Shady Shack definitely deserves a spot on this list of Canggu’s hotspots! Despite being located right in the center, this lovely restaurant offers a peaceful atmosphere. You overlook a rice field, and since there’s not much traffic, you can enjoy your delicious food in tranquility. The menu features vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as sweet treats. With all those healthy bowls, wraps, and veggie-packed dishes, you’ll certainly get your daily dose of vitamins. Shady Shack is open from morning till night.
Boheme Canggu – Restaurant with Pool and Rice Field Views
Boheme Canggu offers a restaurant with great food, a lovely pool, and a rice field in the backyard. What more could you want!? They serve fresh and flavorful Western dishes with a unique healthy twist, and they’re open all day. You can create your own breakfast or treat yourself to a delicious piece of grilled chicken, tuna, or octopus. Occasionally, they host fun evenings with a DJ booth set up in the rice field, allowing you to enjoy delicious food along with some great tunes.
Crate Café – All-Day Breakfast at One of the Most Popular Cafés in Canggu
Crate Café is a staple in Canggu that you cannot miss. It’s located in the heart of the town and features an extensive menu of delicious all-day breakfast options. From richly topped sandwiches and large salads to healthy smoothie bowls and juices, everything is offered at a great price! Be sure to order one of their photogenic chia creations. Crate Café opens at 6:00 AM and takes orders until 4:00 PM. It’s always busy here, but the staff works like a well-oiled machine, so you usually won’t have to wait long for your food. The interior is modern and industrial, with concrete floors and colorful artwork. Crate Café also regularly hosts art and music nights, making it a lively place to visit.
Copenhagen Canggu – Create Your Own Breakfast or Lunch
This is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch where people are more than happy to line up. They open at 6:00 AM, but around 9:00 AM, it gets busy, and you may have to wait for a table. However, it’s definitely worth it! Copenhagen Canggu has a minimalist interior and offers a Scandinavian twist on the Balinese culinary scene. You can create your own breakfast, brunch, or lunch by checking off some of the delicious items on the menu. Options range from croissants and eggs with vegetables to your choice of proteins and sweets. The cinnamon rolls here are to die for!
Times Beach Warung – Culinary Enjoyment on the Beach
Would you rather sit on the beach with your feet in the sand? Times Beach Warung is the perfect place for a laid-back beach day. Centrally located on Canggu Beach, you can plop down on a beanbag on the beach as early as the morning and stay there for the rest of the day. You don’t have to spend a minimum amount on food and drinks here, which is often required at many beach clubs in Canggu. Penny Lane is a photogenic hotspot nestled in the middle of Canggu. It’s a super fun place where you can enjoy great food during the day and have a drink in the evening. The menu features a wide range of delicious dishes, including healthy bowls and superfood salads, but you can also find juicy burgers and a selection of shareable dishes. The interior is a mix of boho-chic and industrial style, with plenty of greenery and artistic decorations. You absolutely must visit this place during your time in Canggu.

The restaurant has a cozy vibe with lots of wooden elements and colorful accents. The glass display case features various plates and bowls filled with different types of food. You’ll feel like a kid in a candy store! Just point to what you like, and they’ll serve it up on a plate for you to create your own meal. You’ll be amazed at how much tasty food you can get for so little.
CARAVAN – Enjoy With Your Feet in the Sand
Let’s head back to the beach! Because that’s where we love to be, right? Staring at the waves, the sun on your face, and the wind in your hair. You can experience this at CARAVAN on Berawa Beach from a comfy couch while ordering delicious dishes from the menu. You can come here as early as 8:30 AM and stay until 10:00 PM. It’s the perfect place to order freshly caught fish from the grill or to enjoy snacks all day long, like mezze dips, nachos, and tacos. Here, you also don’t have to spend a minimum amount on food and drinks to chill on the couches. So lather up with sunscreen and stay hydrated with a fresh coconut now and then, and you can enjoy your time here for hours.
Just two minutes away from Canggu Beach, you’ll find ZIN Café. This is a large restaurant with a spacious co-working area in a beautiful building. The modern interior features wooden furniture and bamboo elements, giving it a true Bali vibe. You can start your day with a delicious smoothie bowl, have lunch with a sandwich or salad, and enjoy dinner with nasi goreng, pizza, or something else from their extensive menu. When you want to work, you can simply walk upstairs to quietly open your laptop at no extra cost. They also serve good coffee and tasty drinks for the evening. There’s always something for everyone, from vegetarian options to meat dishes like beef rendang. You can find this cozy warung in multiple locations throughout Canggu and other parts of Bali.
Honey – Delicious Mediterranean Café in Canggu
Honey is a trendy café on Pererenan Street, loved for its modern decor and delicious menu options for both brunch and dinner. From healthy salads and bowls to good cuts of meat and tasty desserts, there’s something for everyone. The ricotta toast with peach, walnuts, and honey is a delightful combination. And the best part? They have air conditioning inside! This is very pleasant on hot days.
Miel Coffee Canggu – Minimalist Café Full of Tropical Plants
This lovely coffee shop is located a bit further from the center of Canggu and is a great place for a relaxing coffee break. The bright interior is modern and minimalist, featuring lots of wood and white accents. With large windows, plenty of natural light floods in, and the whole place is filled with plants. This makes it a nice spot to recharge or open your laptop on the upper floor. They offer delicious breakfast options like avocado toast, French toast, and croissants. But above all, they are well-equipped to serve you the tastiest coffee specialties. You even get a card with information about the coffee you’re drinking, such as where it comes from and how it’s roasted.
Sensorium – Uniquely Delicious Flavor Combinations
Want to try some new flavors? Then stop by Sensorium in the center of Canggu. In this brutalist building with a minimalist design, they serve modern Australian brunch dishes with an Asian twist. What can you expect from this? Think of the classic scrambled eggs, but topped with surprising Chinese ingredients. The salads and ramen also feature a unique mix of flavors. The menu is presented in a beautiful booklet where they share their vision and showcase all the dishes with stunning photos that will make your mouth water. So be sure to stop by for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.
Woods Pererenan – Varied Dining Among the Greens
Woods is a beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The interior is entirely made from reclaimed wood, adorned with many plants. For breakfast, order a richly topped croissant, shakshouka, pancakes, or waffles. The extensive lunch menu includes vegan pumpkin salad, roasted salmon, and burrata. For dinner, it’s fun to order Sharing Mezze, where you share various bites with your dining companion. Woods Pererenan also hosts various events, such as live jazz or vinyl nights.

The Balinese cuisine is truly finger-licking good. While we all know nasi goreng and chicken satay, there are so many more dishes you’ll definitely want to try. Just a short hour’s drive from Canggu, the old district of the capital Denpasar is where you can taste the authentic flavors of Bali.
