Over the past few years, we’ve visited Indonesia five times and have always searched for the best places to stay. We’ve found many exceptional hotels and hostels where you’re guaranteed a pleasant stay. Whether it’s due to a spectacular view, a delightful pool, or friendly staff; these places all have something extra special. Many of these hotels are very popular, so if you want to stay here, it’s wise to book early.

We stayed at Patal Kikian Villa specifically for its pool. From here, you overlook the entire region and the volcano. The view is brilliant, especially during sunrise and sunset. Usually, pools with such views are found only at ultra-luxury resorts, but here they also offer relatively affordable rooms. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms often come with a private terrace or veranda.

Villa Melasti is a little gem in Amed. You stay here in a traditional bungalow that is beautiful both inside and out. They are also equipped with luxury amenities such as air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a large veranda, and a nice outdoor shower. As icing on the cake, there’s a lovely swimming pool! Villa Melasti is located just slightly outside the center of Amed, offering a tranquil experience. You can reach it within a few minutes by scooter.

Here you can expect a good, quiet, and comfortable stay without a hefty price tag. You’ll stay in a lovely room that’s spotless, nicely decorated, and with a balcony where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the rice terraces. This is a small-scale hotel with only a few rooms, so if you want to stay here, it’s wise to book early.

This idyllic island is just a short boat ride from Labuan Bajo, and it’s fantastic to spend two or three days here. You’ll sleep in a charming beach hut. The first thing you do when you wake up is take a dip in the sea. Blissful! During the day, you can enjoy snorkeling, table tennis, beach volleyball, kayaking, or sipping cocktails in your hammock. It’s pure paradise!
