In Mexico, we found a number of unique places again that we’d love to share with you. Below you’ll find our favorite hotels and hostels in a convenient overview. You can count on having a great time here. Many of these hostels and hotels are very popular, so it might be smart to book early.

As a result, the price you see with us may be very different from the price for your dates. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about this. Casa de Olas
Casa de Olas is a super nice boutique hotel where you probably never want to leave. The hotel’s ambiance is hip and it has a lovely atmosphere. There’s a nice bar, a pool, plenty of cozy seating areas, games, and you can join yoga classes. They also offer free bikes for use, and the staff is incredibly kind. This hotel is located in our favorite neighborhood, La Punta.

Viajero Hostel
Do you prefer staying in a cozy hostel? Then Viajero Hostel is the best choice in La Punta. The relaxed atmosphere, the nice swimming pool, and the many organized activities make this a really fun accommodation in Puerto Escondido. The location is also excellent, as it’s situated among nice shops and restaurants, and the beach is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Casa Beu
At Casa Beu, you stay in an oasis of calm just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. You can enjoy a lovely pool just a two-minute walk from the beach of La Punta, and everything looks impeccable. A delightful base for Puerto Escondido.

As the name suggests, at La Playita Beach House, you stay in a house right on the beach! It’s located in Zicatela, and many good restaurants are within walking distance. There is a spacious pool with sun loungers and hammocks for the ultimate vacation vibe.

Posada La Sabila
Posada La Sabila is located in a super good location in Mazunte. From this hotel you’ll be on Playa Mazunte within seconds and all the good restaurants and cafes are nearby. From the accommodation you have an awesome view over the sea. And all of this for a very friendly price.

Looking for a nice accommodation with a swimming pool? At Cabañas Amaia you can count on a great time. The hosts Adriana and Julian are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The location is nicely quiet and still central relative to the beach and downtown area.

Un Sueño Cabañas
Who wouldn’t want to sleep in an idyllic hut by the beach? At Un Sueño Cabañas del Pacífico, you fall asleep to the sounds of the sea in the background, and the first thing you do in the morning is take a dip in the ocean. This hotel is located on Playa San Agustinillo, about half a mile from the town of Mazunte. Fortunately, there are constant collectivos that take you back and forth in just a few minutes.

Condesa Cibel
One of the nicest accommodations in Mexico City is the small-scale boutique hotel Condesa Cibel. The location is perfect because it’s situated right between La Condesa and La Roma. You’ll stay in a modern furnished room with a comfortable bed and a nice shower. There’s a large rooftop terrace with lounge chairs where it’s wonderful to relax after you’ve explored Mexico City.

Cabañas Alta Mar
Virtually all accommodations on Chacahua are located on the beach, and so is Cabañas Alta Mar. This is a nice place to stay on Chacahua. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the village so the location is perfect. You’ll stay in a cabana with a private bathroom, a balcony with hammock and ocean views.

Porã Chacahua
Porã Chacahua may be located a bit further from the village, but it’s so nice to stay here that for many people that doesn’t matter anymore. At this glamping you’ll stay in an idyllic hut with a comfortable bed. There are many hammocks and delicious breakfast is served. Note: it’s a half-hour walk from Porã Chacahua to the village or 10 minutes by collectivo.

Casa Gitana
One of the most beautiful hotels on Chacahua is Casa Gitana. The atmosphere of this accommodation is wonderful and you can’t help but completely relax here. Casa Gitana is located right on the beach but to make it complete there’s a lovely swimming pool with nice lounge chairs. You’ll sleep in a beautiful bungalow, some of which even have air conditioning. That’s unique for Chacahua. You can reach the village within a 15-minute walk.

Great Hotels & Hostels in Tulum
Trece Lunas
If you’re looking for an affordable hotel in Tulum, Trece Lunas is the perfect place. Stepping into this hotel feels like entering a little paradise. There’s a nice swimming pool, and you’ll stay in a spacious apartment with a kitchen, air conditioning, and a comfortable bed. Trece Lunas is a bit further from the center of Tulum Pueblo, which is why it’s priced lower.

Le Muuch
Le Muuch is the place for you if you want to treat yourself to one of the best hotels in Valladolid. In this hotel, you’ll experience a serene tranquility despite its location right in the center of Valladolid. There’s been a lot of attention to detail in the interior design, there’s an indoor and outdoor pool, and cozy seating areas are scattered throughout. And let’s not forget about the delicious breakfast.

Nice hotels & hostels in Bacalar
Agam Hotel
Agam Hotel is a standout with the best value for money in Bacalar. Its advantages include the bar, the nice pool, and the small garden with hammocks. Downsides for us were the beds, which are a bit firm, and sometimes it can be a bit noisy. Despite that, it’s a very nice place where you can easily meet other people.

Azul 36 Hotel
Azul 36 Hotel is a small-scale accommodation, which makes it feel very personal. It’s somewhat similar to Agam Hotel and one of the best spots in this price range. Here, you can also enjoy a nice pool and relax in a hammock among the tropical plants.

Bluebayou Bacalar
Looking for something a bit more luxurious and unique? Then we recommend Bluebayou Bacalar. Just outside the town center, you’ll stay in a beautiful bungalow made from natural materials. There’s a large dock with lounge chairs, hammocks, and swings in the water. Plus, guests can borrow bikes, kayaks, and SUP boards free of charge.

Azul Cielo
If you enjoy staying in a cozy hostel, Azul Cielo is one of the nicest spots in Oaxaca. This charming hostel features a courtyard with plenty of cozy seating areas and a super fun atmosphere. It’s located about a half a mile from the city center. There are bicycles available for free use.

Hotel La Ceiba
Hotel La Ceiba features a beautiful large garden and simple yet comfortable rooms. Unfortunately, at the end of the dry season, the nearby river can smell quite bad, so that might be a problem around late February to early April. The rest of the year, though, this is just a really nice option in Chiapa de Corzo.

Mansión del Valle
Chiapa de Corzo only has a few hotels, so unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of choice, but Hotel Mansión del Valle de Chiapa de Corzo is a charming small-scale hotel right on the central square of Chiapa de Corzo. It’s a bit noisy, so it’s wise to bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Magic Blue hotel
This delightful hotel is a little paradise in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Affordable and still very good; at Apart Hotel Casaejido, you can expect a pleasant stay without paying top dollar. The low price is mainly due to its location a bit away from the city center, about a 15 to 20-minute walk. However, there is a beautiful garden with a lovely swimming pool, and you stay in a comfortable room with air conditioning.

Casa de Gandhi
Experience a unique stay at Casa de Gandhi. This hotel feels like a museum. Everywhere you look, there are vintage and retro items. You can clearly see that the owner is a passionate person. Casa de Gandhi has only been around for a few years and is run by a lovely family always ready to assist you.

La Abuelita Hostel
If you’re traveling on a budget through Mexico, we recommend La Abuelita Hostel in San Cristóbal de las Casas. It’s one of the nicest hostels where you can stay for a bargain. It’s not exactly a party hostel, but it’s very cozy. There’s a shared kitchen, and the location is very central.

Sombra del Agua is an incredibly stylish hotel. There’s a cozy patio with plenty of relaxed seating areas where the fire pit is often lit during cool evenings. It’s situated in a fantastic location right in the center, and the restaurant serves amazingly delicious food.

Bed and Breakfast Pecarí
If you prefer staying in a quiet bed and breakfast, then Pecarí is a great choice. The owners are super friendly and happy to provide tips on nearby good restaurants.
