A trip to Raja Ampat is unforgettable, partly because you stay at truly special accommodations. At all accommodations, you stay in a bungalow made from natural materials such as teak, palm leaves, and bamboo. These bungalows are often on stilts above the water, so the tropical fish swim right under your bungalow. During our trip through Raja Ampat, we searched for the most beautiful homestays on various islands of Raja Ampat. This way, you can easily plan your trip to Raja Ampat and be assured of a great stay!

Great Homestays on Kri
Junior Homestay
When you decide to stay on Kri Island, Junior Homestay is one of the best options. This accommodation is very centrally located, just a few minutes’ walk from the Soul Scuba Divers pier, yet it’s still very peaceful. The bungalows are on stilts over the sea and come with all the comforts like a fan, a mosquito net, and a large double bed. Additionally, the host, Alfred, is incredibly friendly, and the food is delicious.

Gibran Guesthouse
Gibran Guesthouse, located on the beautiful southern beach of Kri, is another great place to stay on Kri. You are warmly welcomed here, and it feels like home from the moment you arrive. You also stay in a bungalow on stilts with a good bed and a nice hammock. Additionally, there’s a beautiful reef right in front of the door. Gibran Guesthouse is quietly located, about a 15-minute walk to the busier part (the west side of Kri).

Turtle Dive Homestay
Turtle Dive Homestay is the neighbor of Gibran Guesthouse and is a perfect accommodation if you’re planning to dive. At this homestay, you can enjoy a bit of extra luxury. The bungalows come with a private bathroom, comfortable lounge chairs, and even Wi-Fi! The bungalows are not on stilts over the sea but on the beach, so you can still enjoy views of the water.

Terimakasih Homestay
On Mansuar Island, it’s a delight to stay at Terimakasih Homestay. You stay in a lovely bungalow with large glass doors and a veranda with a hammock. The house reef is incredibly beautiful, so from your bungalow, you can jump right into the sea to admire the most beautiful corals and fish. This homestay has 8 bungalows, so you often eat with a lot of people and easily meet other travelers. The lovely dog Goldie will also keep you company during your stay at Terimakasih Homestay. This is one of the most charming homestays in Raja Ampat!

Mansuar Raja Ampat Bungalows
Mansuar Raja Ampat Bungalows is also a fantastic place to stay. You stay here in a spacious bungalow with a large four-poster bed, a hammock, and fun decorations. The bathroom facilities are luxurious by Raja Ampat standards, with even a rain shower! Additionally, the hosts, Mima and Ringo, are incredibly friendly and create a warm atmosphere. Ringo is very musical and loves to share his musical talents.

Great Homestays on Fam Islands
Or Mandira Guest House
One of the best options on Fam Islands is Or Mandira Guest House, located on a long beach with pristine white sand, crystal-clear water, and a beautiful coral reef. From your bungalow, you can walk right into the sea to snorkel with hundreds of tropical fish. There are a total of four bungalows, and the food is delicious. Host Thomas is always ready to assist, and the meals taste great.

Meos Ambower Homestay
Meos Ambower Homestay is another great place to stay on Fam Islands. Host Nick speaks good English and will warmly welcome you along with his family. This accommodation is somewhat larger with a total of 8 bungalows. It’s often lively during meals, and you can easily meet other travelers here.

Great Homestays on Batanta
Risen Raja Ampat
Just around the corner from Marandan Weser, the traditional village of Batanta, lies the beautiful Risen Raja Ampat homestay. Host Faldo and his family are incredibly welcoming, and although his English is not perfect, he makes you feel at home from the very first moment. Together with Faldo, you will go on fun tours, and he will ensure that you see the most beautiful spots on Batanta. You stay in a large bungalow by an idyllic bay, and delicious meals are prepared for you every day.

Marwes Homestay
A little further down the beach is Marwes Homestay, and this is also a good choice for staying on Batanta. This homestay has four bungalows with stunning views of the mangrove and the ocean. We even saw a giant manta ray jump out of the water here! Host Erwin was born and raised on Batanta and, along with his brother, is happy to show you around the island. His friendly mother cooks delicious meals. The reef for this homestay is unfortunately not in great condition, so for snorkeling and diving, you will need to book tours, which is highly recommended on Batanta.

Wai Resort
Officially, this accommodation is not on Batanta, but we still want to mention this luxury resort. Wai Resort is located on the private Wai Island, off the northeast coast of Batanta. The island is rich in white beaches, jungle, unique wildlife, and is surrounded by a beautiful coral reef. You can imagine that staying here is truly special. You enjoy a beautiful luxury villa on the beach, delicious meals cooked by the chef, and fun activities like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.

Great Homestays on Gam
Methos Homestay
Methos Homestay is one of the better homestays on Gam. You stay in a large bungalow with all the comforts. A good mosquito net, a comfy mattress, and a large veranda with a hammock and lounge chair. Dive into the sea from your bungalow with your snorkel, because the house reef is stunning!

Nyanse Homestay
With only a few huts, Nyanse Homestay offers an oasis of peace. This small-scale homestay is perfect for couples. The location is beautiful, as the bungalow is perfectly oriented to watch the sunset. It’s located near two small local villages, and the house reef is also stunning. Host Feri and his family do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Lastly, we want to recommend Raja Ampat Blue Sea. There are five different bungalows in total on a long pier. The bungalows are equipped with a fan, a comfortable bed, a good mosquito net, and a private bathroom. This homestay is located near a village, but far enough to enjoy complete peace and quiet. The family welcomes you with warmth and prepares three delicious meals for you every day, plus a snack at 4:00 PM. A fun bonus: almost every day, Paula the cuscus comes by to share a banana with you!

Manta Homestay
Manta Homestay is a simple, yet lovely homestay on the island of Arborek. You stay in a bungalow on the water, and it is located near the Arborek Jetty where you can snorkel fantastically. There are six bungalows in total, and delicious meals are prepared for you throughout your stay.

Best Hotel in Sorong
Swiss-Belhotel Sorong
There aren’t many good hotels to choose from in Sorong, but at Swiss-Belhotel, you get the best value for your money. This is a large-scale hotel with a good restaurant, a gym, a swimming pool, and luxurious rooms. We particularly enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet. If you have an early flight, breakfast starts at 5:00 AM.
